Identichips are a small implant, the size of a grain of rice, which are inserted by needle at the back of the neck, between the shoulder blades.

This tiny implant holds a number, unique to each chip, which when read by a scanner allows us to retrieve your contact information.

From April 6 2016 it became compulsory for all dogs to have an identichip registered to a national database. For other animals it is not compulsory, but we advise it for all pets. Accidents can happen and even indoor pets can escape. Identichips ensure you have done everything you can to be reunited with your pet if they go missing.

All vets, dog wardens and animal shelters will scan stray pets brought into their care.

It is important to remember that it is your responsibility to update the identichip database if you move to a new house or change your contact details. This can be done easily online. If a pet is found and the chip details have not been updated, this can delay a reunion.
