RWAF Rabbit Friendly Gold Practice

Here at Penbode Pet Vets we are proud to be a RWAF (Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund) Rabbit-Friendly Gold Practice

Proud to be a RWAF rabbit friendly gold practice.

Here at Penbode Pet Vets we are proud to be a RWAF (Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund) Rabbit-Friendly Gold Practice at our Stratton branch. This standard is only awarded to practices that adhere to RWAF’s strict standards of rabbit veterinary care.

This means:

We routinely intubate rabbits under anaesthesia and have sophisticated monitoring techniques, including capnography.

We are experienced with routine neutering and surgical procedures.

We  follow a pain assessment protocol and keep a wide range of pain-relieving medications to ensure your rabbit remains as comfortable as possible  during their treatment.

We are  able to house your bunnies away from predator species and with their companions if they ever need to be hospitalised.

We have  a member of our nursing team on site 24/7 to provide continuous care should your rabbit require an overnight stay.

We have  a separate quiet waiting area.

We follow a recommended vaccination protocol to ensure your rabbits stay protected from myxomatosis and VHD.

We have specific vets and nurses who take a keen interest in rabbits and who have completed continual professional training in this area.

We invest in membership with RWAF annually to remain up to date, reassuring you that we are 100% committed to providing the best in rabbit care. Should you have any further questions about bringing your rabbit to Penbode Vets, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Remember that while it’s our Stratton (Bude) branch that holds gold standard certification, all of our Pets branches will be more than happy to see rabbits.
