RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Veterinary Anaesthesia

Dave qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 2000 and spent his career in North Devon, before crossing the border to Cornwall in late 2021. 

His particular interests lie in anaesthesia, acute and chronic pain management, as well as emergency and critical care of companion animals. In 2010 he obtained the RCVS Certificate in Veterinary Anaesthesia, and in 2015, Dave became an RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Veterinary Anaesthesia. He then attained his General Practitioner Certificate in Western Veterinary Acupuncture and Chronic Pain Management in 2018. He is passionate about pain relief in animals – both in the time around a trauma or surgical procedure, and also in those animals suffering from chronic pain states. Dave runs Pain Clinics based from our Stratton branch, accepting referrals from both within the Penbode group and from other veterinary practices.

He is ‘Dad’s Taxi’ to his sporting children, is a Level 1 British Swimming Judge, and a Level 2 Surf Life Saving GB Coach and SLSGB Lifesaver. In his ‘spare’ time, Dave likes to exercise to ‘control’ the results of his sweet tooth, by dabbling in middle distance triathlon, as well as its separate disciplines. He has a ‘few’ bikes and has recently started SUP’ing and yoga, with Mrs T!
